October 29 @ 3:00 pm 4:30 pm

In collaboration with the British American Security Information Council (BASIC), this roundtable will discuss the report “Emerging and Disruptive Technologies in South Asia: Perceptions of Risks and Responsibilities in Crisis Management and Prevention“. Based on a STREAM survey and two Track 2/1.5 dialogues held between 2024 and 2025, the report examines how “near-term” emerging and disruptive technologies (EDTs) will affect India and Pakistan’s crisis management and prevention capacities. It highlights how technological asymmetries, reinforced by strategic partnerships and technology transfers, shape crisis behavior and deepen mutual suspicions. The report’s findings and policy proposals call for strengthening reassurance mechanisms and cooperative frameworks to mitigate the risks EDTs pose to stability in South Asia.
