Organized in collaboration with Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, the roundtable discussed the trajectory of India–Canada relations following Prime Minister Mark Carney’s visit to India from 27 February to 2 March 2026, which marked an important step in consolidating the recent diplomatic reset. Rooted in decades of democratic values and strong people-to-people ties, the partnership is increasingly oriented toward pragmatic economic and strategic cooperation.

Discussions focused on key developments including the launch of Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) negotiations aimed at expanding bilateral trade to CAD 70 billion by 2030, new partnerships in energy, critical minerals, technology, and talent mobility, the CAD 2.6 billion uranium supply agreement, and growing cooperation in defence and maritime security. The roundtable also examined how these initiatives could translate into sustained economic, strategic, and Indo-Pacific cooperation between the two countries.
