He highlighted mounting challenges from China, North Korea, and joint China–Russia activities, alongside emerging security concerns in supply chains, technology, space, and information. Mr. Abe detailed Japan’s three-pronged strategy—strengthening deterrence, reinforcing the U.S. alliance, and deepening cooperation with like-minded partners—supported by new counterstrike capabilities and the 2023 Official Security Assistance framework. He emphasized the growing convergence between India and Japan in promoting Indo-Pacific stability through expanded dialogues, updated security frameworks, and enhanced defense collaboration.
